Once you arrive in Accra, you'll be warmly received after going through immigration and customs. You will be picked up by our cultural tour guide and transferred in a private A/C vehicle to your hotel in Accra.

After a welcome orientation, we will have a guided tour of Accra taking us to the beautiful campus of the University of Ghana.

Enrich your adventure with a glimpse into a typical Ghanaian neighborhood as we continue to Jamestown Community, the oldest city in Accra. It is the most historic neighborhood where history resides on every corner. Best known for its lighthouses (the first of which was constructed in 1875 by the British) as a navigational aid for trading vessels sailing through the Gulf of Guinea. The original structure was ruined but a larger and more improved lighthouse was completed in 1921.

At the fish market, you will witness the hustle and bustle of the fishermen as they dock their boats and fishmongers sell their catch.

We return to the hotel with a stop at the popular Oxford Street with its beautiful stalls selling authentic African prints, beaded wear, arts and crafts.

Overnight at Accra City Hotel

On the way to Ada we stop to visit  Independence Square where you will see the enclosed flame of African liberation, which was lit by Dr Kwame Nkrumah in 1961.

Next, we visit The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, the final resting place of Ghana’s first president. Set in attractive gardens, there is an adjoining museum, which contains photos, artefacts and an insight into Dr Nkrumah’s life.
