Amazing Birthday Trip to Ghana

I celebrated my birthday in Ghana and had the most amazing time. My tour guide Elvis, our drivers David and Jacob and our seamstress Rosca all did an amazing job. Elvis was thorough, knowledgeable, friendly and made us feel at home. Rosca made my group and I look absolutely stunning on the night of my birthday dinner. Her attention to detail and creative mind was the very best I’ve ever experienced. Because of this wonderful team, my family and I will definitely be returning back to Ghana. I spent Christmas and New Years, I had such an amazing time from things that I learned, didn’t know and the experience that im taking with me is more then I could as for. Our guide was amazing!! He made sure we saw everything we needed to see and everything went smoothly from beginning to end.

Great Tour Company with knowledge and superior customer service.

We planned a Historic Tour of Senegal, Benin, Togo, and Ghana in early December 2025. We flew in from USA into Dakar, Senegal and explored each above mentioned countries for 3-4 days a piece. Continental Tours arranged for us to fly from Senegal to Benin and travel by a comfortable Tour bus to Togo and Ghana. The tour guides provided were pretty good in the French Speaking countries of Senegal, Benin and Togo. Continent Tours provided the Hotels and Breakfast & Dinner for our tour and great drivers. Ghana was the best part of our trip as we were able to understand the English spoken by the tour guide and driver with ease and confidence.
All of the guides were knowledgeable and knew the history of the various sites in the countries.

There are beautiful roads in Benin and much to see in every country. Continent Tours provided unexpected gifts and were very responsive to any concerns our group may have had. We are very impressed by Continent Tours and will be using them again. The slave narrative was very thorough and appreciated. We had contact numbers for people at the tour company and the drivers, this was comforting.

Ghana 2025

This was my first trip on another continent. This trip to Ghana was a life changing experience. I will never forget. Ghana historical visit

Our tour guide was simply the best! I have taken numerous guided tours before and he was definitely my favorite. His passion for Ghana, his detailed explanations, his patience and understanding were bar none the absolute best! Our visits to the museums and historical places went off very smoothly. His constant coordination with these venues made our visits smooth and efficient. He also was able to answer questions about each and every venue we visited. A Trip I’ll Always Remember

My experience in Ghana was exceptional. Our tour mguide was very knowledgeable and we learned so much from him. He was very patient with answering questions and went out of his way to accommodate requests. Visiting Elmina Castle and Ancestral River Park was quite moving. The W.E.B. Dubois Memorial Center was very educational. The naming ceremony was beautiful. We were given African names and truly felt like we were back home. I highly recommend Continent Tours .They even gave us kente cloth stoles with our names on them and beautiful bracelets

This was absolutely the BEST Tour that me and my family have taken.

It was extremely spiritual and filled with so much knowledge. It taught me a lot about my African heritage and what we endured during the slave trade period. Ghana, a land of beauty and contrasts in every walk of life

Going to Ghana was a wonderful and fascinating experience. I learned so much from our very knowledgeable and kind your kind. A highlight of the visit was a tour of the slave dungeons on the Cape Coast and the naming ceremony. Touring the place where slaves were kept before being sent to America was heartbreaking, but participating in the African naming ceremony was so very special and a perfect way to honor our ancestors.

Our trip to Africa was a trip of a lifetime. And the last leg of our trip was spent in Accra Ghana that is where we met our tour guide. He was very professional very knowledgeable and you could tell he was experienced person who enjoyed his job, and had a deep passion for the people and culture of Ghana. We knew where we were going and what time each day. And he was always on time. Tour guide, patiently answered any question we had and went out his way to make our trip as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible.

We learned so much about the history and the culture of Ghana and how it became what it is today, He shared with us, his family history and the history of Ghana. When we first met him, he greeted us by saying welcome home. He taught us how to say welcome and thank you in his language, among other common words that you hear daily. A unexpected occurrence came up on our trip, a member of our group fell ill. Tour guide escorted her to the hospital ensuring she was taken care and that she got the best treatment. Afterwards, he came back and took us on our tour.

Great Tours, Great Guide, Rough Transportation – My Ghana Trip with Continent Tours

Ghana Tour with Continent Tours – Amazing Sites, But Needs Smoother Logistics

I had an incredible cultural experience in Ghana with Continent Tours—rich history, emotional visits to the castles and dungeons, and a beautiful naming ceremony that I’ll never forget.

Hotels were mostly excellent: Mövenpick in Accra was true 5-star luxury, and Oak Plaza Suites in Kumasi had great staff despite renovations. Unfortunately, our last stay at Ridge Royal Hotel in Cape Coast was a big drop from the planned Lemon Beach Resort, going from luxury to a basic 2-star property.

Biggest drawback? Transportation. The 6-hour drive from Accra to Kumasi on rough roads should be replaced with a short flight. Our small bus was cramped for long journeys (we had multiple 4–6 hour drives) and uncomfortable with luggage. A larger, more comfortable bus is a must.

Our guide was knowledgeable and caring, but communication from the company about changes and expectations could be better.

Overall: Fantastic tours, mostly great hotels, but transportation and communication need improvement.

Ghana Tour

I am excited to share my experience in Ghana with Continent Tours! The trip was life changing! I learned so much about our history, important figures like W.E.B. Du-Bois, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and our African history in Ghana. I was so moved by the dungeons, river of last bath, etc. The guides were so informative and drove home the history of the slave trade in Africa. But to hear the history of my ancestors – Kings and Queens and Leaders really inspired me and helped me to see what a strong history we had before slavery! Our tour guide, was very good in explaining much of the information we learned. This was very helpful in reinforcing what we learned. The highlight of the trip for me was receiving my African name and meeting the local King! I will never forget this trip!

I finally returned to my West African roots!!

Visiting Ghana was a “bullet list” trip for me! It was surreal when I finally stepped foot on West African soil! The tour guide assisted us in having an authentic welcoming experience wherever we went! Profoundly impactful was Assin Manso, the Cape Coast Castle slave dungeons and Door of No Return and Elmina Castle, slave dungeons and Door of No Return! PANAFEST! The Fadinkra Ceremony at Elmina, then the Naming Ceremony and meeting the King will forever be remembered and in my heart!! I am still here because of the sacrifices and resilience of the ancestors!! I have returned by the Grace of God! Thank you for all the tour guides, the accommodations and welcoming return!

The was a tremendous learning experience. Our tour guide  was extremely informative and accommodating. He provided clear and concise answers. He also demonstrated patience daily and remained flexible.

The historic sites of exploration were orated with exceptional passion. Each guide disseminated the information passionately.

I was happy that we were able to see all of the scheduled sites in addition to a few extra at our request.
There were a few items that require corrective actions. I personally head to wait until 6:25 to get into my room and we had a 6:45 scheduled meeting time for dinner. I had no internet in my room. My shower water was cold. My telephone in the room was not operational.

The bus accommodation could have been better. The communication regarding the 6 hour bus ride over the horrific terrain should be disseminated prior to arrival. The option to fly should be made available to the guest. Some of my travelers would not have been able to complete that journey. I would not be able to sell this portion without prior knowledge. All travel transparency is vital.

Lunch locations must be made available daily. Travelers have dietary needs that could become problematic if not addressed. Use the hotel being visited as a dining option.

This is without a doubt a recommended your tour.

An amazing guide in a beautiful country! Make sure you see Ghana with Continent Tours

As a good,tour guide was second to none. He was incredibly well informed about Ghana’s past and present, from the ancient past to liberation to knowing all the hip new restaurants and night spots from Accra to Cape Coast, Elmina and parts between. If anyone I know goes to Ghana, I will insist that they hire Continent Tours  for the absolute best experience for a newcomer to this beautiful country.

I also want to throw a quick shout out to our driver . Driving the roads of Ghanan is not for the faint of heart. Driver  got us everywhere we needed to be quickly and safely.

Will use tour group again…but change some hotel choices

Our experience with Continent tours was amazing. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The driver was attentive at all times and we felt safe the entire time with no concerns. The ooverall experience was good. My only complaint is for the hotel we stayed at in Kumasi ( Lancaster Hotel) …it smelled like mold in the hallways, fixtures in the bathroom fell off so we had to use the other rooms shower, needs update, and all 4 rooms, bed was feeling damp and food was horrible with limited selection. The Coconut Grove accommodations was only great because of the beach front room. Otherwise, bed felt like you were sleeping on concrete, and WIfi did not work in all rooms and was weak in the 1 room it was available in. Food was also not good in taste and extremely limited selections for breakfast and dinner. Every day we only ended up getting omelets, because that’s basically all they had. The best hotel was the Accra hotel Fiesta Royale …the hotel was amazing but also was the only hotel we chose ourselves, other 2 was suggested by the tour group. Overall a great experience and we would use this tour group again.

Ghana Stole My Heart ❤️

To say this was the best trip of my life is an understatement. Our tour guide was very attentive, knowledgeable, and I rate him five stars. My small group was very inquisitive about most of the tours and all of the driving time spent in between. Every question and comment was met with a response full of knowledge and history. That is what we were there for! Our driver  was very friendly and always in good spirits every day and we appreciated that the most! Both men were extremely helpful as we were a group of mostly women. They helped with heavy luggage and all other check-in accommodations.

Continent Tours did not fail us at all! This was amazing and I am going back to Ghana soon. This experience made a permanent staple in my life forever! Amazing 8 Day Ghana

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about their African heritage. tourguide and his team did an excellent job. Tourguide has a vast knowledge of his country and shared freely with the group. He answered all questions without hesitation and always made sure we understood. He was patient, understood the group’s need and met them all. Life in each village we entered was throughly explained. The days were packed with activities but I loved the way each day ended with a little night life as we experienced different restaurants with live entertainment.
Our driver and his assistant  showed expertise as they maneuvered our large bus through the narrow streets.
Our tours were flawless and we left each location with more knowledge than we had imagined. I loved the way the itinerary was laid out. We experienced village life before the traumatic tours and ended with reclaimed names and a night of celebration.
This was my second time in Ghana but the tourguide and his team made it feel like it was the first time.
Continental Tours did an amazing job from the planning stage. They met every demand. I will hold each memory close to my heart. I am looking forward to bringing another group to Ghana 🇬🇭 so we can learn what true village life looks like.

Amazing Trip To Ghana

This is my first trip to Ghana. The tours that we went on were very informative, emotional and enjoyable. The Continent Tour guides  were very knowledgeable and most of all patient with the group in terms of giving us time to shop. We were taken to restaurants outside of the hotel that had great musical entertainment. The hotels that we stayed in were comfortable and clean.
The driver couldn’t have been more skilled, driving the big bus through the crazy traffic.I can’t say enough about the crew. They are all awesome men, with nice personalities. I would highly recommend Continent Tours  to everyone.
My only suggestion is to factor a little down time. I would have liked to relax by the pool in the afternoon after a morning exertion, then go to dinner.
I will rate the trip a 9, and the crew a 10.

Traveling in Ghana!

My cousin curated this trip with Continent Tours. This was my first trip touring with Continent Tours.  On the trip, we had our bus driver and bus assistant. It was a great learning experience to learn about the area and culture. Coming to Ghana, it’s nice to have a guide to show you where everything is and it takes the guess work out of trying to figure everything out on your own. All our hotels were comfortable and clean. It was nice to have transfers included in our trip. Pick up and drop off at the airport was seamless. Elvis and his team were nice to be around for the week. They were very patient with the 17 people that were in our group. We had a range of people from the age of early 20’s to 80’s. They looked after us while on the trip. We didn’t have to worry about our safety while traveling. I would recommend Continent Tours to family and friends.

Welcome Home Tour in Ghana

The tour was wonderful , great tour guide Elvis. He was experienced, knowledgeable, accommodating and very friendly. He really took care of us. The best part was the Naming ceremony and the castles. The hotels were great with plenty of food and the driver and his helper were very warm and helpful. Great bus ride and comfortable. I love the hospitality and the learning more about our history. However I would recommend a day in the middle for just rest and relaxing. I would like to party a little. But all and all it was a wonderful experience and I would go again and certainly will recommend your company. Happy New Year.

Kudos to Continent Tours for an exceptional experience. This customized tour allowed our multi-generational, multi-interest group to experience a gamut of Ghana’s treasures, from beaches to countryside life, natural wonders, traditions, history, crafts, culture, and cuisine. Shopping for Ghanaian goods was total joy! Pack an empty bag; you’ll want to bring home more than you think you do right now.

All of our hotels were top-notch, with restaurants serving local and international food. Every buffet also had fresh veggies and salads. We had a private tour bus. Our driver Anim was a masterful navigator of the roads, and our congenial tour guide Elvis was a wealth of knowledge on customs, tribes, and current events. In Ghana we imbibed our origin story, the prequel.

A Journey I will always remember!

This was a must trip especially for black people. It was culturally informative as well as heart wrenching to see our history up front and in person. The country itself was absolutely beautiful and the people treated us like royalty and family. I’ve never experienced such a rewarding journey. I was fortunate enough to be apart of an 8 day ABTP FAM trip to Ghana. Continent Tours was awesome from beginning to end. Our tour guide was the absolute best. We learned so much about Accra, Kumasi, Cape Coast and the Ghanian people. Continent Tours was with us the entire time and we were safe and well cared for. I would definitely recommend Continent Tours to anyone looking to book a trip to Ghana.

Returning Home : Historical & Cultural Tour of Ghana, 12 Days

I would give this tour ten stars if I could. Every element of the tour was exciting and educational from the moment we met our tour guide Elvis at the airport along with our driver Joseph. Our family appreciated their knowledge and professionalism. We felt fortunate to have them for the entire tour. Elvis was always able to offer additional historical information as we drove through towns and villages. It is clear he takes initiative to read and learn more to enhance the experience. He always alerted us to any schedule changes and made sure we were in agreement. We were in awe when it came to some of the activities we participated in.

It was exciting to not always know what you might do at a location. The hands on activities were amazing. It’s safe to say we could never been prepared for driving in Ghana and the road conditions; but we were completely safe in the hands of our driver extraordinaire Joseph. He remained focused on the road and was prepared for any upcoming situation. They never once complained about the number of times they had to load and unload a lot of baggage for four people. If we are able to return to Ghana one day, we would surely want to spend time with them again. Elvis and Joseph are now family to us. The birthday celebration planned for Jerry at the Skybar 25 was first class! We couldn’t believe what was planned! We will recommend Continent Tours and these two individuals to anyone we know considering travel to Ghana.

A great first trip to Ghana! : Historical & Cultural Tour of Ghana, 12 Days

This was my first time to Ghana and this trip exceeded my expectations. We had great customer service from start to finish. Our tour guide (Elvis) and driver (Joseph) were truly THE BEST. They were knowledgeable and answered all of our questions while ensuring our safety as we traveled throughout a new country. I will truly miss them both as they know feel like a part of our family, but thanks to this great experience it is safe to say that this was my first but will not be my last trip to Ghana.

A Dream Come True : Historical & Cultural Tour of Ghana, 12 Days

What an amazing and informative tour. Our tour guide, Elvis, was very knowledgeable of the places, events, and people that shaped the history of Ghana. Even though the roads were very bumpy, our driver, Joseph navigated very safely. We even celebrated my birthday at the Skybar 25, an outdoor restaurant on the 25th floor with a nighttime view overlooking the city of Accra. This tour was more than I could have ever imagined. My new dream is to return one day.

Great Ghana an experience of a lifetime

We had wonderful hotels, an Amazing Guide (Nii Solomon), along with a well organized schedule of touring. The balance of historical, cultural and shopping filled each day. We could have had a few more cooked vegetables with our included dinners.

BRAVO : Ghana Beach, History & Nature, 6 Days

I can truly say this is one of the most exciting experiences I ever had in my life to tour gave me one of the best birthdays ever. I started out at the Lotte Beach hotel, which was very, very nice. I enjoyed that. I also went to the Alino safari Beach hotel my Butler. Richard was fantastic. Very very attentive. I give him a five star lemon Beach resort was excellent. I enjoyed the food. I enjoyed the people. Thank you very much but the most person I would like to think is my driver and my tour God Elvis Elvis was incredible. He knew his history. He informed me of the locals. He was just excellent , I called them my dynamic dual thank you so much and I give you a 10 star review thank you

A wonderful learning experience in Ghana

We had a wonderful tour and our tour guide was exceptional! Each exciting day was planned with careful thought and planning. Although I had been to Ghana before this tour provided new and different memories. I want to especially thank our tour guide who made us feel special and like part of his family. I have just returned from a 12-day Best of Ghana Cultural Tour by Continent Tours. I have travelled around the world to over 40 countries, and this was by far the best trip I’ve taken. It was cultural, educational, historical, inspirational, and overwhelming with much joy, which touched my mind, heart & spirit in such a sacred way. It was truly a trip of a lifetime, all due to the expertise of Tina Ross, Continent Tours Manager, the thoroughness of Martina Kumi, our tour guide, and the safety of Samuel, our driver. From the moment I contacted Continent Tours, Tina made me feel very at ease, knowing that she understood exactly what I wanted in a customized tour. She always exercised professionalism, thoughtfulness, compassion, understanding, and a sweet demeanor throughout the 9-month process before our departure. She never showed any hesitation or negativity towards the changes, additions, questions, and concerns that I had. Her actions certainly provided me with comfort and assurance that I was going to have the type of tour that I desired. As the tour date became closer & closer, I became more & more excited, which was all due to Tina. My tour was all of what I planned and even more than my expectations, and I was blessed immensely with extra surprises that were included by Continent Tours. To add to this, our tour guide was Martina Kumi, who had an effervescent and loving personality with her heartfelt hugs and sweet, radiant smiles from our airport pickup throughout our journey until our airport drop-off. She embraced my 3 companions and myself with much care, protection, respect, & love as senior women and affectionately referred to us as “Mama”, which gave rise to us truly adopting her as our Ghanaian daughter and the genuine blessings of being family. She was very kind and generous, ensuring our needs were met at all times. She had an amazing and thorough knowledge of all the regions of Ghana, its different languages, and its cultures, which provided us with much education and history and allowed us to experience the different people of Ghana in every aspect of life. There was never concern, fear, or doubt that we were truly in safe hands. Samuel, our soft-spoken, warmhearted, and expert driver, was very meticulous in maneuvering some of the undesirable roads to give us the best comfort. I would sincerely and strongly recommend Continent Tours to anyone wishing to visit Ghana, especially those who desire to learn about their ancestry. I had the pleasure of working with Continent Tours on my recent trip to Senegal, and I can certainly state that it was the nicest travel experience I’ve ever had. My husband and I just came back from a trip to Ghana.  Our driver and tour guides, Shaibu and George were superb.  They were very knowledgeable and provided us with an authentic cultural travel experience.  They have great customer service skills and were attentive to our needs.  We had an amazing time with them from the time they picked us up from the airport to the drop-off.

I appreciated the flexibility in designing our own itinerary. Tina was an absolute joy to work with. Louise Ann (LA) and Osman were a delight…going over and aboard to address our collective and individual needs. The tours were fantastic. LA responded to all of our inquiries and went out of her way to accommodate 11 different personalities.

This was a wonderful group trip. We had an amazing time and much of that was due to the great guidance and insight we received from the good people at Continent Tours.
