Once you are in Accra, Ghana it is very easy to find food joints and restaurants to experience. There are over 100 different restaurants and food joints in Accra with many of the most popular ones located in the central parts of Accra and Osu. With a few upmarket and most recommended in and around the East Legon area.

You might be wondering “where should I eat dinner in Accra?” or “Where can I go on a date in Accra?”. We have compiled the top 10 restaurants in Accra just for you.

  1. Simret – The Taste of Ethiopia
    Simret is a small family-run restaurant established in Accra in June 2014 to provide an authentic Ethiopian buffet dining experience at a reasonable price. They are located in a secluded compound in Roman Ridge and have provision for secure parking.

    They currently provide Dine-in service, Take-away, and Delivery due to COVID19 restrictions from the government of Ghana.

  2. Santoku
    With Santoku, contemporary and sophisticated Japanese dining arrives in West Africa. The 400m2 restaurant offers the delights of world-class Asian fusion cuisine in an environment crafted by international talent. The team behind Nobu in London and Dubai worked with Santoku to create a range of dishes, from Otsumami snacks and Zensai sharing dishes to soups and noodles. The name ‘Santoku’ means innovation and experimentation, concepts that the chefs have explored and which result in a menu that combines traditional Japanese culinary customs with contemporary cuisine.   3. Bistro 22
    Bistro 22 offers one of Accra’s best dining experiences and is located in the residential area of Labone. It offers international culinary delights to the most discerning diners. The ambiance and causal setup are very cozy complemented by passionate staff lead by Chef Chady Hachem. The Ghana Tourism Authority named Bistro 22 the Restaurant of the Year in the 2016 award. They currently provide Dine-in service, Take-away, and No-contact Delivery due to restrictions from the Government of Ghana.

  4. La Chaumiere
    La Chaumiere is a very sophisticated French-Mediterranean restaurant in Airport Residential catering to discerning diners in Accra since 1992. The French-focused menu at La Chaumiere has hints of North African influences and the service is perfect. The wine list is also very extensive and varied. The space is great for late-night dates or good for business rendezvous.

  5. Mamma Mia
    Popularly regarded as one of the best eateries in Ghana, Mamma Mia Pizzeria serves a variety of Italian dishes, pizza, and vegetarian options. This place is another hidden eating gem that will amaze you at what you can find on a quiet little street off Osu, off oxford street.

    Set in one of the most prestigious spots in the city, overlooking the Polo Club’s playing field, Accra Polo Club, formerly home to Il Cavaliere Pazzo, rises to its setting. The menu is a mix of superb, properly cooked Italian dishes (risottos, gnocchi, and ravioli) and, er, sushi. Not no natural bedfellows in one place, but the sushi is excellent here. Highlights on the menu include the lobster linguini and the calamari.
