The Eco-Omo Safari Lodge is located in the Omo Valley, just outside of Jinka. The lodge is designed to blend in with its surroundings and offers guests a traditional house in southern Ethiopia, complete with home-grown veggies and freshly ground coffee.
Eco-Omo Safari Lodge is nestled in lush grounds, with traditional materials used to blend in with the natural surroundings. It’s just a short distance from Mago National Park, on the outskirts of Jinka, in the heart of the Omo Valley.
The lodge is small and personal, with only 20 safari tents. Each of the thatched lodgings has a four-poster bed and traditional furniture and is set on a wooden platform.
This rustic resort has a strong emphasis on sustainability, using locally grown fruits and vegetables to create delectable cuisine. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at the restaurant, which uses fresh products from its gardens and draws on Italian inspirations.
There is also a coffee plantation on-site, and you can enjoy a freshly ground cup of coffee on the bar’s alfresco patio, which overlooks the Neri River and is a peaceful place to unwind after a day of touring. Local tribes and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Konso are also easily accessible from the lodge.
