Travel to Bardo and the Tunis Medina. Drive through the narrow streets of Tunis's historic center. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the rich cultural legacy of this medieval, walled city as well as the superb workmanship of Tunisian artisans. In the afternoon, travel to Carthage to see historical sights such as the ancient Tanit shrine. Continue to Sidi Bou Said, a Moorish hamlet that has managed to retain its old-world charm and calm. After breakfast, go to Sousse to see the Old Medina and the Sidi Sahbi Mausoleum before continuing to El Jem. Visit the old Thysdrus before going to Sfax to see the Old Town and enjoy lunch. Continue to Gabes after lunch, where you will spend the night. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner
After breakfast, go to Djerba to see the pottery studio and the Ghriba Synagogue in Hara Sghira. Your journey covers Houmt Souk, the island's capital, as well as the fishing harbor. After breakfast, go to Chébika, Tameghza, and Midès, three intriguing mountain oasis in stunning and engaging settings. Take a one-hour train excursion through the mountains on the RED LIZARD train to Metlaoui's Phosphate Mines. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner
Leisurely breakfast then departs to the ruined Roman city of Sbeitla. Spend time touring the ruins located at the foot of a hill by the river. Continue to Kairouan, once the capital of Maghreb and still an important Islamic centre. Visit the Great Mosque, an important Islamic architecture, and the Aghlabite Pools, which represent the most important piece of hydraulic engineering of the Middle Ages. Here you may visit the covered Souks in the Medina and try your bargaining skills to garner great souvenir value. Return to Tunis overnight. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner
