Day 1: BISSAU

Arrival in Bissau at international Airport of Bissau, transfer to hotel dunia or similar

Day 2: BISSAU-CANCHUNGO-BASSAREL KINGDOM-CACHEU

Early morning departure for a full day drive and visit during driving time. The city of Cacheu is one of the first Portuguese settlements in the Africa and the first sailors arrived at the beginning of the 15th century, interesting and small museum about the slave trade. After Cacheu we will return to find sacred KINGDOM OF BASSAREL has been considered the fifth largest KINGDOM in West Africa of the MANJACO TRIBES. We will be enjoy tradition, culture and history. By chance, the King of the Village will guide us to the palace of the sacred forest.

After lunch, we will visit the city of Canchungo for a brief visit before heading to our hotel in CACHEU. Thank you and welcome again for choosing our country as your destination.

Day 3: CACHEU-QUINHAMEL-BISSAU

After a leisurely morning breakfast in Cacheu we will head to Quinhamel for a relaxing visit with the first stop at the sugar cane factory, which has been in operation since 1945 and is owned by a former Portuguese soldier who fought in Guinea during colonial times. The factory continues to operate with the same manual machines that make it a pleasure to visit and has 150 employees.

Later, we will head to the small Quinhamel market to enjoy the variety of fruits and products sold there in the colorful African style. But our visit will not end there, we will enjoy a great experience with a traditional healer and King of traditional power. There they will explain to us how they live within their traditional and culture. The Biombio region is known because the majority of its occupants are PEPEL tribes, who are simply 100% traditional religion. The region’s economy is centered on the production of sugar cane, the plantation of cashew nuts, which are the country’s largest export product in general, and the production of traditional bread baskets called PANO DI PINTI.

Lunch at a local restaurant or picnic.

Return to Bissau dinner and overnight.

Day 4: BISSAU-BAFATÁ

After early breakfast, we will head to the Bafatá region with the same name as the city. It is the second largest city in Guinea-Bissau. It is essentially inhabited by Fulani and some of the Manding tribes. We will have the opportunity to interact with old buildings of Portuguese architecture, such as CASA DE CABRAL now converted into a museum and with a narrow street. And Bafatá known as the birthplace of AMILCAR LOPES CABRAL, the great revolutionary for our independence during the colonial era. During our visit, we will see the colorful, market and fine African people.

Lunch at a local restaurant or picnic. After lunch, in the afternoon around five (05 PM), we will drive about 14 km to a historic Mandiga village called TABATO. We will be welcomed by their Xylophone instrument, which is known in the country as the famous Griote. From that, we will have the opportunity to be part of the testimony of their tradition and culture.

Drive back to Bafatá, dinner and overnight at Triton Hotel or similar.

Day 5: BAFATÁ-CANTANHEZ PARK (DJEMBERM)

After a great day in Bafatá, and a good breakfast, we will head to the south of the country, where we will enjoy the beautiful landscape during our driving time to the Cantanhez National Park known as a place of CHIMPANZEES and other jungle animals. The driving time will be combined with a few stops in the beautiful villages before arriving at Cantanhez Ecolodge. The park is surrounded by ethnic and tradition cultural diversities such as Balantas, Tanda,Nalu, Susso, Fulani and so on. The park has been created since 1997 for the benefit of local communities. Thank you for choosing my country as your destination, lunch at a local restaurant or Pic.nic. In the afternoon, we will be received by the local people of the village of Cantanhez and they will provide some social project that has been carried out by different NGOs and cultural activities (Mask dance of Tanda).

Day 6: CANTANHEZ PARK (DJEMBEREM)

Early morning, before breakfast we will start driving to go to forest with our local guide, who will take us to discover the real natural forest and observe chimpanzees, enjoy nature. After exploring the forest, we will return to Ecolodge to have breakfast and drive back to Bissau. But we will stop at Independence museum to visit in Guiledje Village before we heading strait away to Bissau, dinner and overnight at Dunia Hotel or similar.

Day 7: BISSAU-BOLAMA-RUBANE ISLAND

After breakfast, we will continue our journey to the Archipelagos of Bijagos starting to Bolama Island, which was the former capital of Portuguese Guinea in colonial times. The Capital of Bolama was created from 1871 until 1941 when the Capital was removed to the current capital Bissau. However, it is the closest island to the mainland of Guinea-Bissau with a population of 6,000 and an area of 98.1km2; the island was uninhabited when British colonists occupied it in 1792. There we will have a half hour visit before heading to our base, which is the famous Rubane Island. Lunch, dinner and accommodation at the Ponta Anchaca Resort.

Day 8: RUBANE-SOGA ISLAND

Breakfast on the luxurious terrace at Ponta Anchaca resort and then we will have a 20m crossing to Soga Island, where I will have the opportunity to be in direct contact with the daily life of the Bijagos people. After 20m by boat, we will walk 30m to reach the villages. But, the landscape will bring us 3 colors like blue ocean water, white sand and vegetation. In the Afternoon, the boat will take us to mean Island Bubaque the one as known by more European influence and with possibility to attend the baca bruta dance of Bijagos.

Back to resort dinner and overnight

Day 9: RUBANE-CAVALO ISLAND (HORSE ISLAND)

After breakfast, we will seal to Cavalo Island to watch birds and enjoy the real natural beach where your foot will be the only print in the beach and pic-nic or back to have lunch at Ponta Anchaca resort. Relax in the afternoon dinner and overnight.

Day 10: RUBANE-BISSAU

Have breakfast and cruise back to the capital city Bissau by boat where you will have a day room at your hotel. Pack, refresh and be transferred to the airport of Bissau in time.
Say good good-bye to Guinea Bissau and fly to your next destination.
