Day 1 Kigali, Rwanda

Arrive Kigali; meet, assist and transfer to lodging. Overnight at Virunga Lodge or Similar

Day 2 Parc National des Volcans

After breakfast, prepare for your first incredible Gorilla Tracking experience. Attend a brief orientation at Park Headquarters on the Dos and Don’ts while in the presence of Gorillas. Gorillas are not predictable creatures and it may take 2-9 hours depending on their movements. You will stay with these giant apes for 1 hr for observation and photographing. Afterwards, enjoy your evening at leisure or walk to a nearby community for social interaction to learn more about their culture. Day 3 Parc National des Volcans

After breakfast, drive to the grave of Diana Fossey, the American primatologist and author of ‘Gorillas in the Mist’. Her grave is located at the former Karisoke Research Center where she spent about 20 years studying and habituating the Mountain Gorillas. Hike through a beautiful bamboo forest and thick Afro-montane habitats, criss-crossed trails with tracks of forest buffalo and elephant. View several species of primates and birds as you make your way up and down to Karisoke, nestled between the volcanic peaks of Karismbi and Visoke. Day 4 Parc National des Volcans – Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda

After breakfast depart for Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda, famous for its stunningly beautiful islands and abundant bird life. Meet assist and transfer to hotel. After lunch go on a canoe ride for excellent bird watching, and visit the beautiful Islands of Lake Bunyonyi. Day 5 Lake Bunyonyi – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, through the Switzerland of Africa, through hills and valleys with distant views of the volcanoes.In the evening walk to the nearby Batwa (Pygmies) communities for entertainment and to learn more about local culture. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Overnight at Gorilla’s Nest Lodge or Similar

Day 5 Lake Bunyonyi – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, through the Switzerland of Africa, through hills and valleys with distant views of the volcanoes.In the evening walk to the nearby Batwa (Pygmies) communities for entertainment and to learn more about local culture. Day 6 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast, head to the park office for another briefing about the Dos and Don’ts while with gorillas. In Uganda, tracking involves walking up steep and densely forested hills before finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation. You will stay with these Giant apes for 1 hour for observation and photography. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Overnight at Gorilla’s Nest Lodge or Similar

Day 7 Bwindi Forest – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, depart to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Travel across beautiful rolling hills and through the Ishasha sector in the south; home to the famous tree-climbing lions. After lunch, cruise along the Kazinga channel, which is famous for the highest concentration of Hippos in Africa. The bird life here is astounding, with over 610 species and hundreds of Nile crocodiles. You will also see herds of elephants and buffaloes drinking water on the channel. The boat provides a clear platform for photography. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Overnight at Mweya Lodge or Similar

Day 8 Queen Elizabeth National Park

After an early breakfast, drive to Kyambura Gorge nearby to track the fast moving and elusive wild chimpanzees. Kyambura Gorge harbors the only family of habituated chimpanzees in Africa. The chimp population is fast moving and viewing is unpredictable but the journey is enchanting. Other primates to be seen include Red tailed monkeys, Vervet, Black and White colobus monkeys, olive baboons as well the Giant forest hog. In the evening go on a game drive along Mweya peninsular before sunset. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Overnight at Mweya Lodge or Similar

Day 9 Queen Elizabeth – Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, go on a morning game drive to the Kasenyi plains to catch up with predators returning to their hideouts. You will encounter a large variety of animals like Elephants, Buffalo, Warthogs, and several Antelope species, Lions, leopards and many more. Afternoon at leisure. After lunch, drive to Kibale Forest National Park, following the Rwenzori Range; view big game en-route. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 10 Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, meet at Park headquarters for a brief orientation on chimpanzee trekking. This trek will expose you to primates like the Colobus Monkeys, Vervet, red-tailed monkeys, the Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Olive Baboons, and over 350 bird species. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Overnight at Ndali Lodge or Similar

Day 11 Bigodi Swamps – Kampala

After breakfast, head into the Bogodi swamps for a nature walk. Here you will see several antelope species like the statungas, 8 primate species and 200 bird species including the rare shoebill. After lunch, drive to Kampala via the scenic route. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight at The Fairway Hotel Kampala or Similar

Day 12 Kampala – Departure

After breakfast, time permitting, go on a city tour in Kampala; visit Kasubi Tombs, Bahai Temple, or Nakasero Fruit Market before transferring to the Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast
