Participate in the Guerewol festival. After breakfast, drive to the festival site of Guerewol between Abalak and Agadez. The Guerewol Festival is an annual courtship ritual competition among the Wodaabe Fula people. Young men, dressed in elaborate ornamentation and traditional face painting, form lines to dance and sing, competing for the attention of marriageable young women. This ancient tradition presents a unique challenge for the youth, but above all, it’s a source of pride, bringing individuals together for a grand gathering to affirm their identity: the celebration of beauty. During the festival, you will spend 3 days and 2 nights under tents.

The road construction is a project promised by the state of Niger, and we hope it will be completed before the festival period. If not, we’ll adjust our route and spend the night in Dogon Doutchi.
