Arrive Monrovia. Meet, assist and transfer to your hotel. Depending on the time of arrival you may begin the historic tour of the capital of Africa’s first independent state. Overnight at Mamba Point Hotel or similar
After breakfast go on a city tour of Monrovia; highlights include the remnants of Ducor Hotel, the highest point in Monrovia where the first lighthouse of Liberia, the Joseph Jenkins Roberts monument, Providence Baptist Church– Liberia’s , oldest church which was built in the 18th century and where Liberia’s Declaration of Independence was signed. After breakfast, go canoeing on the Du River surrounded by Mangrove trees. Visit Bemah Village once inhabited by the Mamba Bassa ethnic group. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast Overnight at Mambo Point Hotel or similar
After breakfast drive to the town of Gbarnga in Bong County. Here you will visit Tribal villages to learn about the cultural history and archaeological of the tribes. Visit Kpatawee Waterfalls which is covered by a lush canopy. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast Overnight at Mamba Point Hotel or similar
Visit the world’s largest rubber plantation, a part of Liberia since 1926. After lunch at the plantation restaurant, drive through some of Liberia’s Old Towns; including Bensonville, Crozierville, Dennisville, and Careysburg. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast Overnight at Mamba Point Hotel or similar
After breakfast, drive to Mansoa and board a boat to “Chimpanzee Island” where you will see chimpanzees and abundant bird life. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast Overnight at Mamba Point Hotel or similar
With the assistance of your driver and guide, decide on your excursions and activities. Time permitting you may visit Jola House Women’s Social Enterprise; here you will interact with Artisans who have become self sufficient by designing and creating furniture and several indigenous household products and gift items.
