Anjajavy is only accessible by light aircraft or boat and is located on a peninsula of the town of Antonibe in Madagascar’s northwestern region. Anjajavy le Lodge was founded in 2000 by Dominique Prat and has since built expertise that is perfectly matched to its surroundings. The lodge has 24 villas, a nautical center, and a “L’Oasis” styled garden. Anjajavy, which is known for its high level of endemism, plays a pivotal role in conservation and is regarded as a success story by experts. Anjajavy le Lodge promotes high-end eco-tourism as a development strategy. The Reserve’s overall protected area is 10,803 hectares, with 1,030 hectares of Private Reserve and 9,773 hectares of Protected Area.
The home is tucked away in a 550-hectare forest reserve with access to a number of isolated coves. The forest is home to a variety of lemurs as well as the Malagasy fish eagle, one of the world’s most endangered birds. At the same time, the Anjajavy Natural Conservation Centre is working on new initiatives.
