Historic Nigeria – On this 8-day tour of Nigeria, visit the main commercial city of Lagos, the slave town of Badagry; purchase Batik fabrics in Itoku market; view the mysterious Esie soapstone statues. Drive to Oshogbo to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site Oxun Shrine. You will also visit the ancient city of Ile Ife the cradle of creation, the confluence of rivers Niger and Benue at Lokoja and the capital city of Abuja.

After breakfast, depart Lagos towards Badagry along the coastal road west of Lagos near the border with the Benin Republic. After arriving, go on a tour of Badagry, visiting the old slave market, the museum dedicated to the slave trade, the Seriki Abbas compound, and Gberefu beach (Slave embarkation point). Visit the famous Olumo rock, the Itoku market that sells "Adire" (batik) cloth, and the fetish shops at the market where traditional medicine is peddled before continuing on to Abeokuta. A relaxing evening after dinner.

Day 3: ABEOKUTA- IBADAN – OYO – ILORIN – ESIE – OSHOGBO

Leave for Oshogbo after breakfast. On the way, sightseeing at Ibadan and Oyo. Ilorin sightseeing followed by a visit to the Esie museum to see the fascinating soapstone statues. proceed to Oshogbo. Register at the hotel. A leisurely evening after dinner.

Day 4: OSHOGBO – ILE-IFE

Set out on a tour of Oshogbo and its surroundings after breakfast. The capital and largest city of Osun State is Oshogbo, which is situated in an agricultural area where yams, cassava, maize, cotton, and tobacco are farmed. The annual celebration is held in Oshogbo beside the River Oxun. The sacred grove of the river goddess Oxun, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, serves as the focal point of the event. One of the last remaining areas of primary high forest in southern Nigeria is the dense forest of the Oxun Sacred Grove.

The landscape of the grove and its meandering river are littered with sanctuaries and shrines, sculptures and art pieces in honor of Oxun and other deities. Oxun is regarded as the dwelling of the goddess of fertility Oxun, one of the pantheons of Yoruba gods. For all Yoruba people, the sacred grove serves as a symbol of identity. It provides evidence of the formerly common practice of creating sacred groves outside all settlements. Visit Ile-historical Ife's sites and national museum. The founding deities Oduduwa and Obatala started creating the universe at Ife, according to the Yoruba people, under the guidance of the supreme Deity Olodumare.

Day 5: OSHOGBO / LOKOJA / ABUJA

Go to Abuja after breakfast. Visit the confluence of the Niger and Benue rivers in Lokoja when traveling there. Mount Patti, located at 900 meters, provides a panoramic view of the area surrounding Holy Trinity School, the first school to be built in northern Nigeria by Bishop Ajayi Crowther. The "Iron of Liberty," an iron pole designating the location where slaves who had been liberated from slave traders and won their freedom in the early 1800s, may be found on the school's grounds along with other noteworthy historical sites. Continue to Abuja while stopping at fishing communities along the Niger River. When you get to Abuja, check into your hotel. A leisurely evening after dinner.

Day 6: ABUJA

Day 7: ABUJA – LAGOS

Transfer to the airport for your trip to Lagos after breakfast. On the Atlantic coast of West Africa, LAGOS (Eko native name), the thriving commercial capital of Nigeria founded around 1630, is made up of islands, a peninsula, and the mainland. The most populated city in Africa is Lagos Metropolitan, a global megacity with about 21 million inhabitants.

Upon arrival, start your thrilling sightseeing trip by taking a drive around the city's Lagos Island, Victoria Island, and Lekki Peninsula neighborhoods, stopping along the way at museums, Freedom Park, Brazilian Quarters, Eko Atlantic City, Tinubu Square, Nike Art Gallery, and Isale Eko Old. The highlight is a boat trip on the lagoon with a 360-degree panorama of the city. shopping at Lekki International Market's gift shops. Tour completed, return to hotel.
