Itinerary

Day 1: ARRIVE BAMAKO

When you arrive in Bamako, you will be welcomed, helped, and taken to your hotel. Your arrival time will determine the course of today's events. You can rest and take it easy or begin your tour of Bamako and the surrounding area.

Overnight at Le Grand Hotel

Day 2: BAMAKO-SÉGOU-DJENNE
Day 2: BAMAKO-SÉGOU-DJENNE

Take a drive to Djenne after breakfast. Stop in Ségou along the way and tour the harbor, the traditional weavers, and other local artists. Visit Sekoro, the former Bambara Kingdom capital, and walk past King Biton Coulibaly's grave. For the night, continue to Djenne.

Day 3: DJENNE -  MOPTI

Visit the magnificent Grand Mosque, the biggest mud-brick building in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site, after breakfast. Go to Mopti by late afternoon driving. Enjoy a traditional Pinasse sunset sail on the Niger River in the evening.

Drive to Mali's famous Dogon region after breakfast. Visit the Dogon village of Songo, famous for its circumcision grotto and rock paintings.

Visit the village of Banani after breakfast before proceeding on to Ireli and Amani, which are home to a crocodile sanctuary that is important to the Dogon people. Visit the communities that are located near the Bandiagara Cliff. Go on to Bandiagara and stay the night.

Visit Segou after breakfast. Visit Terekongo village on route to see the holy well there. Arrive the next day at Ségou.
