Day 2 Abidjan And Vicinity
Day 2 Abidjan And Vicinity

Visit the metropolitan area of Abidjan today, which includes Treichville, which is connected to Le Plateau by two significant bridges, the luxury residential neighborhood of Cocody, and Le Plateau, the city's center, high-rise business district. The majority of people live in Treichville, among other places. There are a few busy markets there, as well as a bustling, intriguing nightlife.

The largest outdoor launderette (laundry) in Africa may be found in Abobo, which is located in the north-western area of Abidjan. Hundreds of Fanicos (washer men, no women) crammed together in the middle of a stream to wash clothing will make for an unforgettable spectacle here. They labor tirelessly, rubbing clothes frantically on enormous stones kept in place by used car tires, then spreading the clothes over the rocks and grass in a large drying area. Despite the confused appearance, they never misplace or mix up their clients' clothes.

Day 3 Abidjan To Yamoussoukro (245Km)
Day 3 Abidjan To Yamoussoukro (245Km)

After breakfast, proceed to Yamoussoukro, the nation's capital, in the north through the country's core region. Yamoussoukro owes its good fortune to the fact that Houphouet-Boigny, the first president of Cote d'Ivoire, was born there and lavished money on his home town. There are hardly any traditional African homes left since Houphout-Boigny built concrete middle-class buildings in their place.

The Basilique de Notre Dame de la Paix, the second-largest cathedral in the world after the Vatican and a near-exact duplicate of St. Peter's in Rome, is the brilliant focal point of everything. The 36 enormous stained-glass windows, which were all hand blown in France, are a breathtaking sight.
Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner
Overnight at Hotel Le Royaume

Day 4 Yamoussoukro
Day 4 Yamoussoukro

Complete your trip to Yamoussoukro by going to the former president's palace and admiring the famous crocodiles in the palace moat. Visit Como National Park, the largest game reserve in Côte d'Ivoire, if you have the time. Along with hippos, antelopes, buffaloes, monkeys, and other bird species, this area is home to the surviving herds of elephants in the nation. The best-preserved Sudanese-style mosques in West Africa can be found here, in the homeland of the Lobi people, who also inhabit this area.
