Day 1: OUAGADOUGOU

Arriving in Burkina Faso's international airport in Ouagadougou, the "country of honest people," you are welcomed, escorted, and taken to a hotel for the night. Hotel: Hotel Bravia

Day 2: OUAGADOUGOU – TIEBELE – OUAGADOUGOU

Following breakfast, you'll travel to Tiebele, a genuine Kassena village. Kassena people, who are part of the larger Gurunsi ethnic group and inhabit northern Ghana and southern Burkina Faso, typically live in buildings with distinctive architectural features and wall paintings. Although wall painting and decorating are old practices, they are sadly fading gradually today In fact, only a few of the surviving families in the town still have recently renovated homes, largely, as I anticipated, for tourist reasons. Drive back to Ouagadougou for the night in the afternoon. Return to Ouagadougou for the evening via car. Meals included: Breakfast Hotel: Hotel Bravia

Day 3: OUAGADOUGOU – BOBO DIOULASSO

You will go to Bobo Dioulasso today, the second-largest city in the nation and its main commercial and industrial hub, where you will find food processing facilities, bicycle assembly plants, cigarette factories and cotton gins. Economically significant handicrafts made from ivory, bronze, and iron as well as traditionally made jewelry are sold. The big market sells fresh produce like fruits and vegetables. Major roads stretch out from the city, and it serves as a stop on the train line that connects the capitals of Burkina Faso and Côte d'Ivoire, Ouagadougou and Abidjan, respectively. Just to the west lies Borgo International Airport. The enormous clay mosque in Bobo Dioulasso, an Islamic center, is strikingly adorned with wooden pikes. It is home to government research centers for geology and mines, cotton and textiles, and it has a college, the West African Centre for Economic and Social Studies. Check into the Hotel Sissiman upon arrival, then begin a quick city tour that includes the mosque, the historic district (Kibidwe), the catfish in the river, the Music Museum, and the Provincial Museum. Day 4: BOBO DIOULASSO – BANFORA – SINDOU

Following breakfast at the hotel, visitors proceed for Banfora, also known as the Cascade Region of Burkina Faso. Visit "Les domes de Fabedougou," a naturally occurring rock formation, then head to Sindou for the night. Meals included: Breakfast Hotel: Campement de Sindou

Day 5: SINDOU – NIANSOGONI – BOBO DIOULASSO

You will drive to Niansogoni, a settlement on a hill, in the early morning after a quick breakfast. You'll get the impression that you're in Mali's Dogon Country when you see this village. You will go see the cave-dwelling troglodytes. Drive to Bobo Dioulasso via Banfora after descending to the car. You will settle into a hotel the night of your arrival in Bobo Dioulasso. Meals included: Breakfast Hotel: Hotel Sissiman

Day 6: BOBO DIOULASSO – GAOUA

Drive to Gaoua after breakfast at the hotel. After reaching Gaoua, check into your hotel and have lunch. You'll travel to Loropeni in the afternoon, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can see the ruins of Loropeni with the help of a tour, then head on to Obire to see the Gan King. There are seven tribes that originated in Ghana, but only the Gan tribe has a king. After breakfast, drive to Gaoua. Check into your hotel and have lunch when you get to Gaoua. The King will welcome you, and you will see the sanctuary and the statues of all the Kings and the four Queens. They had four Queens because they believed that if a person is under 40, they shouldn't be King. Return the next day by driving to Gaoua. Meals included: Breakfast Hotel: Auberge 11 Decembre

The sightseeing of Gaoua, the Museum, the women's cooperative, and the market will take up the majority of today. The rest of the day will be free. Stay overnight in the hotel. After breakfast, you will take a trip to Ouagadougou En route to Sabou, where you will stop for lunch and see sacred crocodiles. Find out more about those crocodiles. proceed on to Ouagadougou. Check into a hotel after arriving for the night. Meals included: Breakfast Hotel: Hotel Bravia

Drive to Manega, a community 50 kilometers from Ouagadougou, after breakfast. Visit a fascinating historical and cultural museum upon arrival to learn about all the Burkinabe tribes, then travel back to Ouagadougou to explore the artisan village, the FESPACO site, and, if time permits, the museum. Go to a restaurant to have dinner as a farewell. You are driven to the airport in preparation for your subsequent journey. Meals included: Breakfast
