Christmas is a magical season of the year and while there’s truth to the notion that there’s no place like home for the holidays, Ghana offers you the unique experience of how much Christmas is celebrated here. This trip will offer the chance for one of the most unforgettable holidays of a lifetime. Upon arrival in Accra, you will be welcomed, ushered through immigration and customs and transported in a private A/C vehicle to your hotel in Accra. Experience the bustling city of Accra, which has a blend of modern buildings and old structures constructed during the colonial times. This 120 years old city has an abundance of historical landmarks including New Town, Ga Mashie and Jamestown areas. Visit the popular Aunty Muni’s Kitchen where “Waakye”, a familiar delicacy for most Labadi Beach Hotel

Ghanaians is deliciously prepared and sold. “Waakye” is a simple but nutritious Ghanaian dish of cooked rice and beans served with tomato sauce and hot pepper sauce (optional. Drive past Independence Square where Ghana hosts most of her national ceremonies on our way to visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, final resting place of Ghana’s first president driving pass the Independence Square where you will see the enclosed flame of African liberation, which was lit by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in 1961. The Memorial Park is set in attractive gardens and has a museum which contains photos, artifacts and an insight into Dr. Nkrumah’s life. Continue to Jamestown- one of Accra’s most historic neighborhoods, where history resides on every corner. Best known for its lighthouses and the Usher Fort) first of which was constructed in 1875 by the British) as a navigational aid for trading vessels sailing through the Gulf of Guinea. The original structure was ruined but a larger and more improved lighthouse completed in 192 is still functioning today. We will return to our hotel briefly to freshen up before we attend Afrochella festival designed to elevate and highlight the thrilling and thriving millennial talent from and in Africa. The day will feature a festive celebration of our culture in the form of Arts and Fashion Installations, Live painting, the best of African Culture and Live performances. Return to the hotel with beautiful memories of a truly authentic African experience

After yesterday’s exciting all-night dancing and fun, have a restful morning and a leisure breakfast before we complete our tour of Accra, visiting the following places: · Visit the W.E.B DuBois former home, now a museum and Centre for the study of Africanism · Drive through Flagstaff House, official residence and administrative offices of the president (Ghana’s Whitehouse). After lunch (on your own account) at the Buka Restaurant, enjoy a true African shopping experience at the fashionable Oxford street that has colorful stalls of authentic African wear. You may also visit Woodin, Global Mamas or Christie Brown’s Exquisite Boutique, an exciting Fashion Boutique in Osu. We end the day at the Accra Crafts and Arts market to try out our bargaining skills. Accra Arts Centre to try out your bargaining skills. This is the largest open market in Labadi Beach Hotel

Accra and may want to shop for authentic African wear, crafts. Evening outing (optional) and at clients’ own arrangements.

Following a leisure breakfast, we depart to Cape Coast in Ghana’s Central Region. This region has had the most significant effect on the lives of Africans in the diaspora. We will pass through small villages and arrive at Assin Manso, the burial site of two former slaves from Jamaica and the US whose remains were reinterred here in August 1998 during Ghana’s first Emancipation Day Celebration. You will see the “Slave River:” where our ancestors were washed before confinement in the slave dungeons to await shipment to the Americas. We arrive in Elmina and check into our hotel. We continue to Elmina and enjoy lunch (on your account) at the Coconut Grove Beach Resort. We will embark on a guided walking tour of Elmina, which was the first point of European contact in Sub-Saharan Africa. It was once the most cosmopolitan city in tropical Africa. Enjoy a walk through the ancient town of Elmina. At the harbor see the colorful fishing canoes getting ready to go to sea for another night’s task of fishing. This is a picture-perfect opportunity for photographers.

After breakfast, we will travel the short distance to Elmina Castle, originally called Fort Sao Jorge de Elmina – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, completed in 1486 and was the first European made structures built in sub-Saharan Africa. After this visit, we continue to Cape Coast to see the Cape Coast dungeon, where you will experience the emotional journey of going in the opposite direction of our ancestors, through the infamous “door of no return”. Lunch (on your own account) at the One Africa Restaurant. This evening, you will experience the traditional Fihankra Ceremony– “Restore to Diasporas the Cultural and Spiritual connections that were denied them for centuries”.

Fihankra Ceremony will include a traditional Naming Ceremony where you will receive your certificate of authentication. Tonight, ring in the New Year in Style at your hotel.

After breakfast and check out, you will visit Kakum National Park, which has one of Africa’s famous rainforest canopy walkways. This canopy walkway will be one of the highlights of your time in Ghana. Prepare to take a deep breath as you walk the suspended bridge and marvel at the breathtaking views that stretch for miles across the rainforest. On arrival in Ghana’s capital city, see today’s Ghana at the West Hills Mall. Transfer to your hotel; rest of the day is free. There will be opportunities to enjoy the New Year at fun and thrilling night programs in the city this evening.

The next 2 days promise to be an exclusive luxurious experience at Aqua Safari Resort, a top eco-friendly luxury getaway resort in the heart of Ada Foah, located 2 hours drive away from Ghana’s capital, Accra. This is where you enjoy an ideal blend of a stunning beach, picturesque village tours, topped off with some sun. You will also unravel a rich and inspiring history of the local people. After a tasty breakfast at your Accra beach hotel, we check out and take a brief visit to the infamous Makola market set in the heart of Accra. Enjoy the sights and sounds of this busy market compartmentalized into various sections which makes shopping easy for buyers. You may want to experience a typical African market and try your bargaining skills if you are interested in purchasing a souvenir or something special for yourself. We continue to Aqua Safari Resort arriving in time for a mouth watering lunch (prepared with fresh farm produce) which you can take right at the beach or taken from the serene chalet garden. The choice is yours ! After lunch, you can take a cool icy dip in the stunning resort pool overlooking the Atlantic ocean, or just while away the hours on the beach, save for your personal butler at hand to top up your cocktail whenever you need, or just enjoy the stunning views from the your balcony. Dinner will be at the resort this evening. There is a chance to to be part of exciting events happening at the hotel which may include watching beautiful orange flames flicker into the Ada night sky as the resort fetes you excellent night life band music or DJ’s special playlist. Complete the experience with marshmallows, crackers and chocolate mores from the restaurant.

After a sumptuous breakfast either at the beach, chalet, terrace, chalet garden or the Island, morning at leisure sunbathing along the Atlantic Ocean. You may take walk around the resort which reminds most like a walk through an episode of Discovery Channel. If the well-mannered donkeys don’t amuse you, the friendly midget ponies will definitely get you posing for pictures. Why walk the tour when you can glide it? You have the day to explore everything Big Ada has to offer while you effortlessly and smoothly glide through its ins-and-outs. Enjoy a beautiful glide on the Segway ride as you explore the town of Ada. There are also varieties of activities you can choose. You can take a leisure ride on a bike through Ada township and commune with nature, or enjoy the thrill of your first catch of Barracuda, Dorado, Tuna Mackerel, etc or grab the opportunity of going kayaking or canoeing with the resort’s GHALDA certified staff and have some fun. Late afternoon, take a relaxing boat cruise to the Mangroves and Island to explore the work of the local gin producers on the Island who is committed to responsible tourism and environment protection.

After a leisure breakfast, we depart to Accra. Enroute, enjoy a scenic drive to T.K Beads, experts in making beautiful traditional beads using ancient methods. Your guide will take you through the skilled process of making the beads. Beads are culturally a symbol of wealth and beauty here in Ghana and are still used during traditional durbars and festivals. After the demonstration, we can admire and purchase a wide selection of beads that have been made here at the onsite shop. The bead-making craft has a long history in Ghana. Beads have been used in ceremonies of birth, coming of age, marriage, or death for the past 400 years. You will watch and participate in the whole bead-making process from beginning to end. Upon arrival in Accra, transfer to the hotel. You may enjoy Accra’s Night life this evening.
