  1. Day 1: ARRIVE IN BAMAKO 

    Arrive in Bamako. Our tour guides will greet you upon your arrival at the airport and escort you to the bus for your onward journey to the hotel and check-in.

  2. Day 2: BAMAKO 

    After breakfast, city tour of Bamako: enjoy a panoramic view of Bamako from Point G, called the hill of Health; visit the National Museum, providing an excellent introduction to the ethnic diversity of the country. Visit the city’s craft bazaar to see sculptors, weavers, leather workers, jewelers, and metal workers exhibiting their wares and displaying their skills.

  3. Day 3: BAMAKO – SEGOU 

    Transfer by road to Segou. On your way, visit Wolodo a Bambara village to see how this tribe lives. Then Visit of Sekoro another Bambara village that was the capital of the Bambara Kingdom in the 18th century (1712 — 1755) 

    You will visit a direct descendant of King Biton Mamary Coulibaly who reigned over the Kingdom from 1712 — 1755. Visit the vestibule, the tomb, and the mosque he built for his mother. Continue to Segou for checking in Hotel Esplanade and lunch.  

    Afternoon, city tour of Segou including the mud cloth center to learn the history of mud cloth and how it is made, the corniche and the potteries on the bank of the river. Time permitting you will have a river cruise on the Niger River. 

    Transfer to Hotel Esplanade overnight.

  4. Day 4: SEGOU — DJENNE —SAN 

    After breakfast, you will drive to Djenne. Upon arrival in Djenne, you will havecity tour of Djenne including the mosque, (the biggest mud monument in the world.) visit a coranic school, the manuscript center, and the three styles of buildings in Djenne, visit the tomb of Tapama Djenepo the Young and Virgin girl walled up for the protection and prosperity of Djenne. Lunch in a local restaurant and drive to San. Photo stop in Ganga. Upon arrival in San, you check in at hotel Teriya, and start the city tour of San, the mosque (the biggest and oldest in the city). Continue to Terekoungo an authentic Bobo village very famous for its sacred well, fetish house, and millet beer making. You will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of local people before going back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

  5. Day 5: SEGOU / SIKASSO 

    Drive to Sikasso via Koutiala. We drive through the city of Koutiala with the visit to the local market. Continue to Sikasso. Upon arrival installation at the hotel for overnight

  6. Day 6: SIKASSO 

    Breakfast at hotel and start the city tour: the ruins of Tata, the protecting wall during the invasion time, you see the old palace of the chief warrior Keletigui Berthé, the Mausoleum of second King Tieba TRAORE, the Senoufo center which a museum where you will learn about the Senoufo culture, The Mamelon hill which has been rebuilt by the colonialists, the vegetable market one of largest markets in Mali and drive to different monuments dedicated to Kings and culture of the area and back to Hotel for overnight.

  7. Day 7: SIKASSO – BOBO DIOULASSO, BURKINA FASO

    Visit Sikasso, in Mali’s green belt; see the remnants of the Tata, ancient palisade that encircled the city and for a time held off the French colonial army; Visit the Mamelon, the residence of the kings of Sikasso, which is the most imposing and best-preserved witness to the splendor of the empire that reigned over this region 30 km east of Segou, now in Mali; overnight in Bobo Dioulasso.

  8. Day 8: BOBO DIOULASSO — BANFORA 

    Tour Bobo Dioulasso, (“house of the Bobo merchants”), Burkina Faso’s second-largest city; see the old mosque and visit the old Kibidwe artisans’ district, where you will see blacksmiths, potters, and dyers at work; in the afternoon drive to Banfora; visit the Karfiguela waterfalls and Lac Tengrela generally this is the place where you can see hippos; overnight in Banfora at hotel Canne â Sucre or if not too late return to Bobo Dioulasso for overnight.

  9. Day 9: BANFORA – GAOUA 

    Depart Banfora or Bobo for Gaoua via Bobo Dioulasso, on the way you will visit the sacred crocodiles in Sabou village. They consider crocodiles as totemic animals which are never killed. They are harmless and you can touch them and take pictures with them. Upon arrival in Gaoua, check-in at hotel Hala and visit the Museum where you will learn about the Lobi culture and history. Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

  10. Day 10: GAOUA – LOROPENI – GAOUA 

    After breakfast, we drive to the ruins of Loropeni visit this historical site with a local guide. The origins are not known, but the local people Gan call them “House of refusal” Then continue to visit the 29th Gan King who is appointed by the ancestors. Ask him questions and drive back to Gaoua for lunch. 

    Afternoon visits the local market and a monument dedicated to Thomas SANKARA father of Burkina Faso revolution 1 1983.

  11. Day 11: GAOUA – OUAGADOUGOU 

    After breakfast, visit the Poni Museum, dedicated to the Lobi culture; see the distinctive, fortress-like Lobi architecture; then drive to Ouagadougou. Upon arrival, time permitting, we will see the monument of the people’s Victory and transfer to the hotel for overnight at Hotel Bravia in Ouagadougou.

  12. Day 12: OUAGADOUGOU 

    Full day to explore Ouagadougou, Capital city of Burkina Faso (Country of Honest people) The Name of the country was Haute Volta from the French colonizers, 1 1983 when Thomas SANKARA took the power, he changed the name of the Country. You will visit the Grand Market and the National Museum, with its interesting collections of regional clothing, masks, household utensils, and ancestral statues; visit the craft market at the Artisans’ Village, where you will find basketry, batik fabrics, wooden statues, and masks, jewelry, leatherwork and bronze castings; transfer to hotel for overnight in Ouagadougou.

  13. Day 13: OUAGADOUGOU – TIEBILE – OUAGADOUGOU 

    After breakfast, drive to Tiebile, the home of the Kassena ethnic group. See the houses with their unique architecture colorfully and intricately painted in traditional designs by the women Kassena women. Time permitting, meet with the village chief. Return to Ouagadougou overnight.

  14. Day 14: OUAGADOUGOU – MANEGA OUAGADOUGOU 

    After breakfast drive to Manega to visit an interesting private museum about the ancestral way of life and how they would treat the dead corps. When entering the first room the shoes must be taken off and enter the back. Drive to Ouagadougou in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you have the choice to relax athotel or drive to Laongo where every year artists from every horizon meet to make sculptures in rock. Back to Ouagadougou overnight.

  15. Day 15: OUAGADOUGOU – NATITINGOU (BENIN) 

    Depart Ouagadougou after breakfast and drive to Fada N’Gourma, cross the BF-Benin border, and continue to Natitingou, in Somba country. During this trip to the I Somba area, you will see the difference in building style with the tribes you have already visited. You may meet women with bundles of wood for fire wood, traditional houses. Arrive in Natitingou check-in Hotel Tata Somba for overnight

  16. Day 16: NATITINGOU – ABOMEY 

    Visit the Natitingou Museum, for an interesting overview of the Somba culture. Then drive to Abomey, the birthplace of voodoo. Visit Abomey’s historical Daho-Donou Museum. Overnight in Abomey

  17. Day 17: ABOMEY – COTONOU 

    Visit the ancient palaces of the twelve kings of Abomey, who reigned from 1620 through 1900. Visit the artisans’ center, and then depart for Cotonou. Overnight in Cotonou

  18. Day 18: OUIDAH 

    A tour of Ouidah, an important traditional religious center and ancient slave depot, which sent thousands of Africans into slavery in the New World. 

    Visit the Museum in the Old Portuguese fort, the temple of pythons, the Cathedral of Notre Dame, and the Kpasse Sacred Forest, trace the route of the famous “Slave Road” which leads to the slavery memorial of Zoungbodji. Witness a traditional voodoo ceremony featuring the spirits of departed ancestors.  

    Return and overnight in Cotonou

  19. Day 19: COTONOU – DEPART 

    In the morning, visit Ganvie village, built on stilts over the lagoon. Then continue with a tour of Cotonou, including the international Dantokpa market, with its fetish products and handcraft.  

    In the evening, transfer to the airport for your final departure.
