ARRIVE Niamey; meet assist and transfer to hotel.

Day 2 Tuesday, September 27, 2011-Niamey

After breakfast go on a city tour of Niamey; visit the Capital building; the National Museum and markets. In the afternoon, go on a cruise on the Niger River to visit the hippos.

Day 3 Wednesday, September 28, 2011- Niamey- Tahoua

After breakfast; drive to Tahoua, here you will have an opportunity to view the only wild Giraffes in West Africa.

Day 4 Thursday, September 29, 2011- ABALAK

After breakfast drive to Abalak for the beginning of the Gerewol Festival. The Gerewol Festival is an annual courtship ritual competition among the Wodaabe Fula people. Young men dressed in elaborate ornamentation and made up in traditional face painting gather in lines to dance and sing, vying for the attentions of marriageable young women.

Day 5 Friday, September 30, 2011 – Abalak

The Gerewol Festival continues.

Day 6 Saturday, October 1, 2011 Abalak – Tahoua

The Gerewol Festival continues, afterwards drive to Tahoua for overnight.

Day 7 Sunday, October 2, 2011 Tahoua – Niamey

After breakfast, return to Niamey. On the way, visit the Haoussa villages to admire the famous mud architecture and interact with the locals.

Day 8 Monday, October 3, 2011 Niamey – Depart

After breakfast, day at leisure. Afterwards transfer to the airport for onward flight.
