ARRIVE BAMAKO, MALI

International flight arrives in Bamako, Mali. You will be met, assisted and transferred to your hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Bamako.

BAMAKO/MOPTI

After a short tour of Bamako leave Bamako behind and drive to Mopti stopping en route at points of interest arriving late afternoon. Overnight in Mopti.

Day 3:

MOPTI

Explore this city which has a fascinating mix of Malian cultures: Bambara, Bobo, Bozo, Dogon, Fulani, Tuareg, Songhaï and Hausa): visit the beautiful mosque, the fishing port and the bustling market, where you can shop for gold or silver jewelry, Tuareg leatherwork, or Fulani blankets of cotton or wool. This evening enjoy a sunset sail on the Niger river in a traditional Pinasse. Overnight in Mopti.

Day 4:

MOPTI /DJENNE/DOGON COUNTRY

Travel to Djenne where you will see the magnificent Grand Mosque, the world’s largest mud brick structure, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue on to Dogon Country; visit the Dogon village Songo; see its world-renowned rock paintings, circumcision grotto and steep cliff dwellings; Overnight in Sangha.

Day 5:

DOGON/SEGOU

After breakfast, drive to Segou, Mali’s second largest city and former colonial capital. This drive takes you through varying rural villages where you can observe the traditional way of life. En route you will have the opportunity to stop and visit places of interest. Overnight in Segou.

Day 6:

SEGOU/BAMAKO/DEPART

You may spend the morning exploring the city of Segou before returning to Bamako or you may return to Bamako early morning. You will have a day-room to relax before you transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
